My favorite THREE cars similar to the BMW i7 are the:

When it comes to the 2023 BMW i7 Series, you are drifting into the until recently unchartered waters of the electric vehicle-the all-new i7 takes the 7series into the EV era. As such, you will find more electric vehicles similar to it, than non-electric ones.
FYI, production of BMW’s all-new 2023 i7 Series started at its plant in Dingolfing, Germany – this year 2022, in July. According to sources, the company’s “flagship sedan hit the production lines with both combustion and fully electric powertrains….After delivering the very first examples used as demo vehicles by dealerships, BMW will begin delivering customer cars in the autumn of this year.”
Like most of BMW’s magnificent vehicles, this car is equally stunning and promises luxury on a higher plane. I bet you can’t wait to see one, right?
Styling comes with lavish large grille intakes and split-element headlamps. The interior is graced with the same spacious, luxurious, and upscale cabin ambiance as the gasoline-powered 7-series. A host of luxurious high-tech convenience features promise luxury travel. Prominent among these is a large 31.3-inch screen that drops from the ceiling. From it, you can access streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube via the car’s 5G cellular connection.
Should you opt for the Executive Lounge package, then your rear-seat passengers will be treated to power-adjustable reclining seats, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and extra-plush headrests.
In terms of speed, BMW claims the i7 xDrive60 goes from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds.
The i7 uses a similar electric powertrain setup as the brand’s new EV SUV, the iX. It too comes with two electric motors—one driving each axle—making a combined 536 horsepower. All-wheel drive is standard.
Like most cars, the price range for the BMW iSeries also varies depending on the trim level you choose. For now, the only version of the i7 that BMW will make available soon is the all-wheel drive xDrive60-you can expect a more sporty M-sport model in the not too distant future.
With generous room in both the front and the rear seats, and fine materials lining every square inch of the interior, the BMW i7 comfortably seats five.
Generally, the BMW i Series is available in several variants and body types that are powered by Electric, ULP, and Hyb/PULP fuel type(s). The new BMW 7 Series is the first luxury sedan in the world to offer a choice between three types of drive.-fully electric, combustion-powered, and, soon, a plug-in hybrid.
The electric i7 series is powered by two electric motors and sports a battery pack large enough to compete with other high-end electric sedans. When fully charged, the i7 should offer a driving range of around 300 miles per charge (the EPA hasn’t released an official estimate yet).
To add 80 miles of driving range in just 10 minutes, the i7’s large 101.7-kWh battery pack can be connected to a DC fast charging station. FYI, as an incentive, BMW is including three years of free 30-minute charging sessions at Electrify America charging stations with every new i7.
The BMW i Series has no towing capacity for the latest model available. Understandably, the i7 series is a luxury vehicle and towing capacity is not applicable.
However, if one of the above is a deal breaker for you, and you are still not sold on the i7 series, then you might be interested in one of the cars below that I consider similar to it.
Electric Cars Similar to the BWM i7 series
1. 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS
Considered the flagship of the Mercedes-Benz brand’s electrified future, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan, like the i7 Series, is one of the fanciest EVs yet. Its curvaceous body and luxurious interior immediately remind you of the i7. Like the latter, it too boasts luxurious state-of-the-art features.
Some of the EQS’ attractive features include the extensive interior lighting, headrest pillows for front and rear passengers, an Executive Rear Seat package of adjustable back seats with massage functions, neck, and shoulder heating, and an individual tablet to control the MBUX infotainment system. Add to this a huge Hyperscreen inside, and the Mercedes EQS becomes a plush rival to the BMW i7, Porsche Taycan, Tesla Model S, and Lucid Air.
Similar to the i7 Series, the 2022 EQS is also all-new and the first Mercedes to use a platform designed for EV models. It’s also the first fully electric vehicle from the company’s EQ subbrand to be offered to the U.S. market.
According to Mercedes-Benz’s estimates, the rear-drive variant accelerates from zero to 60 mph 5.5 seconds. Whereas the more powerful i7 twin, the EQS580 does 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds-0.8 seconds faster than the i7.
The sizable EQS EV sedans are offered with either a 329-hp, rear-drive powertrain (EQS450+) or a 516-hp, all-wheel-drive setup (EQS580 4Matic). As such, the EQS450+ features an electric motor mounted on its rear axle that generates 329 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque.
While more like the i7 Series, the EQS580 4Matic equally has an electric motor on each axle, which translates to an all-wheel drive and a total system output of 516 horsepower and 611 pound-feet of torque. Of these two, the latter’s output is more similar to the i7.
To drive one of these babes, you need from $103,000 to $148,000. Both the base and premium trims are more affordable compared to those of the i7.
Although they are hatchbacks, the EQS450 and EQS580 are 5-passenger, 4-door -like the i7 Series.
Like the i7 Series, both the EQS450 and EQS580 utilize a large 107.8-kWh battery that’s rated at up to 350 miles of range. Both EQS models feature a lithium-ion battery pack with a usable capacity of 107.8 kWh. The EPA rates the EQS450+ at 350 miles of range and the EQS580 at 340 miles.
According to the EPA, the most efficient EQS model is the EQS450+, which earned ratings of 97 MPGe city, 97 MPGe highway, and 97 MPGe combined. Going with the EQS580 drops the city figure to 92 MPGe in the city but increases the highway estimate to 99 MPGe, for a combined average rating of 95 MPGe.
2. 2020 Tesla Model S
Just as the i7 is a trailblazing BMW 7 Series luxury sedan in the world offering a choice between three types of drive.-fully electric, combustion-powered, and, soon, a plug-in hybrid, the Model S (aka Code name: White Star) also trailblazed for Tesla with its electric powertrain.
In addition to this, aside from the exterior and interior luxury features, to me, the Tesla Model S’ electric powertrain, two electric motors (one for each wheel) as well as miles per charge, also speak to that of the i7 series.
Instead of towing capacity, the Model S’s sloped roofline hides a rear liftgate that opens up to reveal a huge 26-cubic-foot trunk. However, that as it may be, since vehicle fit and finish are hot topics among automotive experts and enthusiasts currently, there have been some complaints regarding the Model S’ paintwork.
Put your foot to the metal and the 2020 Model S test vehicle delivers an impressive 2.4-second zero-to-60-mph time. Around 2.1 seconds faster than the i7. Acceleration of the various models reportedly ranges from outstanding to ferocious.
That is perhaps because, similar to the i7 series, with an electric motor dedicated to each of the front and rear axles, the Model S also comes standard with full-time all-wheel drive.
The price range for the Tesla Model S varies based on the trim level you choose. Beginning at $108,000, it rises to around $137,000 depending on the trim and year of manufacturing.
Seating is the usual 5 passenger, 4-door. Though the i7 series is a sedan and the Model S a hatchback.
Fully charged, Tesla’s battery pack varies in its driving range and acceleration performance depending on the model. The base version’s battery provides plus or minus a range of 412-miles, while the Plaid model offers up to 390-arguably 90 miles more than the i7 series. But remembering that the i7 can add 80 miles of driving range in just 10 minutes, then the distance between the two might not be that much-both can go the extra mile.
Though the i7 series’ MPGe ratings are not yet available, they are likely similar to the Model S’ base model of 121 city and 112 highway.
Since it’s a hatchback, when it comes to the Model S, we cannot speak of towing capacity. Despite this, however, the Model S is practical. It comes prepared with a large rear cargo area and a secondary front trunk for extra space.

3. 2022 Audi e-tron GT
Like the i7, this bold-looking electric car placed alongside the former bears some similarities. Porsche Taycan. From its dual electric motors to its two-speed transmission and horsepower, the e-tron GT is very much like the i7.
Like the i7 Series, the e-tron GT is all-new for 2022 and is the latest all-electric model in Audi’s EV lineup. The Audi e-tron GT has an equally chiseled body and a decorative grille on the front end.
Inside, the e-tron is just as elegant and technologically advanced. High-end materials beautify the interior, as do high-tech features.
The e-tron GT is available with all-wheel steering, adjustable air suspension, and wheel sizes that range from 19 up to 21 inches. Depending on the model, the dual electric motor assists the e-tron GT produce between 522 and 637 horsepower-the regular e-tron GT generates up to 522 horsepower while the RS version peaks at 637 ponies. The former model is more akin to the i7 Series.
The entry-level Premium Plus can be yours from $104,000, while the high-end RS will set you back about $144,000. Both the i7’s base and top-end models are way more expensive than this Audi’s.
Like the i7, the e-tron GT comes with seating for five and four doors.
Beneath the hood of every e-tron, the GT features a 85.0-kWh lithium-ion battery. A complex cooling system means its battery pack can handle repeated runs without the typical signs of heat-related degradation.
The regular model is rated at 238 miles of range and the RS somewhat lower at 232 miles. Of the two, the regular is closer to the i7’s 300-mile range.
The 2022 e-tron GT is rated at 82 MPGe combined, with the RS version delivering 83 MPGe.
4. 2022 Porsche Taycan
If the Audi e-tron GT is in any way similar to the i7, then so too is the 2022 Porche Taycan-the two were developed alongside each other.
Just as, until the Porsche Taycan arrived the world hadn’t seen an unapologetically performance-focused electric car that set the EV world buzzing- the same could also be said of the 2023 i7 Series.
Like the i7 series, the Porsche Taycan is both externally and internally impressive. With a striking angular exterior, and a customizable high-tech interior. Moreover, the interior can be further customized with various textures and fittings.
As is expected in such luxury vehicles as the Taycan and i7 Series, both in full leather trim is standard. In the former, the front seats are electrically adjustable front seats and come in a choice of 16 colors.
Porsche also reports that the ’22 Taycan benefits from better thermal management and charging functions to reduce charging times.
All Taycan models are equipped with a two-speed transmission. As such, step on the accelerator and you might as well fire a missile repeatedly. The result is like shooting a bullet.
Most Porsche Taycan sprint from 0 – 60 miles per hour in less than 4.0 seconds. For instance, the Turbo S’s rocket-ship takeoff is 60 mph in just 2.4secs. The Taycan 4S hits 60 mph in 3.4 seconds.
In kilometers, that’s 0-100km/h in 5.4 seconds in the base car, 4.0 seconds in the 4S, 3.2 seconds in the Turbo, and 2.8 seconds in the Turbo S.
Like the i7 Series, the Taycan’s more affordable model, the all-wheel drive Taycan 4S comes equipped with a 522-hp powertrain- with the smaller battery and 562 horses with the bigger one. The i7’s is 536-hp. Similar to the i7, most Taycan models feature dual electric motors, with one powering the front wheels and the other powering the rear. They produce separate outputs that vary by trim level.
For the Taycan, Porsche is asking from $186,000 to 204,000. Compared to the i7 series, the Taycan’s base trim is comparatively way more expensive than the i7’s, whereas both their high-end models are almost similarly priced.
The Taycan’s interior consists of four adult-sized bucket seats, with a small extra center seat in the rear. As such, it is not a standard five-seater but is pitched as a, ‘4+1’ since the center rear seat is quite small. The front seats and outboard rear passenger seats are bucket-style, and all are clad in leather trim. Front seats are electrically adjustable and can optionally be heated.
Porsche’s ratings range between 199 and 227 miles per charge, depending on the battery size and electric motors. Models with the larger battery—the 93.4 kWh pack, have only 83.7 kWh are useable, whereas the i7 has 101.7 kWh. The most efficient Taycan is rated at up to 79 MPGe combined and up to 84 MPGe when driven on the highway.
5. 2022 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo
In so far as the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo lineup aligns quite well with the regular Taycan, so too, does it also with the i7. In particular, the Cross Turismo 4S model’s 562-hp powertrain is not too far from the i7s.
Aside from the fact that both the Taycan Cross Turismo and i7 are motivated exclusively by electricity, they also share a chassis and other components. So, similar to the i7, the Cross Turismo also comes standard with all-wheel drive and an adjustable air suspension.
Available in 4, 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S trim levels, the Taycan Cross Turismo combines the comfort and usability of a wagon with the interior quality and soul-stirring performance of a modern Porsche, all with no tailpipe emissions.
Tech-wise, the Cross Turismo also competes favorably if not better. Notable is the remote-parking feature that gives it the ability to park itself without anyone behind the wheel-via smartphone. One other interesting thing about this Taycan is its two-speed transmission on the rear axle, a first for an EV.
With 562-hp assistance, the 4S model does 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.
Like the i7, the Cross Turismo gets its power from two electric motors with total outputs ranging between 469 and 750 horses, depending on the trim level. In the case of the i7, its best match is the 562-hp 4S model.
You can drive the Cross Turismo from $95,000 to as much as $189,000you can . The price range is both below and within that of the i7.
Similar to the i7, the Cross Turismo seats the conventional five passengers. It is, however, considered a four-door wagon.
