2023 Land Rover Range Rover

The 2018 Range Rover is stylish inside and out, with a price range between $104,500 and $218,300 for one of 12 available trim levels. Land Rover claims that their new cabin air filtration technology eliminates smells and viruses like COVID-19. Even while the car is parked, the system continues to function normally. The 22-way power adjustability, massaging, memory, cooling, and heating of the front chairs is fantastic.

Backseat passengers now have nearly an extra inch of legroom and an extra 0.3 inches of knee room compared to earlier models. The Range Rover Sport has been updated, but its refreshed appearance still looks familiar. The wheelbase of both the short-wheelbase (SWB) and long-wheelbase (LWB) models have been lengthened by about three inches, to 118.0 and 125.9 inches, respectively. Most importantly, the longer wheelbase (LWB) now enables Land Rover to provide three-row seating.

In the meantime, two gas-powered motors will have to do. The P400 retains its 3.0-liter inline-six engine that is both supercharged and turbocharged from the previous model year. Just as previously, it is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and produces 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. There’s a top speed of 176 mph possible in top trim.

It is still mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission and produces 395 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. Even when propelling the seven-seat, long-wheelbase SE, the combo performs with aplomb. The LWB, according to Land Rover, can accelerate to 60 miles per hour in 5.8 seconds, which is a significant improvement over the SWB.

BMW’s latest offering is the P530 twin-turbo V-8, which was developed by Land Rover’s requirements. It generates 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque and sends that power to the ground via an eight-speed automated transmission. According to Land Rover, it can reach 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and has a towing capability of 8200 pounds. One drawback is that the entertainment system is difficult to operate.

1. 2023 BMW X7

Close up photo of new BMW X7 car isolated on white room.

The 2023 BMW X7 is refreshed mid-cycle with a new front fascia, a larger digital instrument cluster, and BMW’s most up-to-date infotainment system. Both new and improved driver assistance systems are available on BMW’s biggest SUV. BMW is the first manufacturer to provide a set of 23-inch wheels. Powertrain upgrades are another highlight of the X7.

The xDrive40i’s six-cylinder turbocharger now produces 375 hp (an increase of 40) and 398 lb-ft of torque (a 67lb increase). The V-8 model’s previous designation, M50i, has been replaced by M60i, and its new 4.4-liter twin-turbo along with a 48-volt hybrid setup is touted as a more economical combination. The upcoming Alpina XB7 will feature an even more potent setup than the M60i’s 630 HP. That’s an increase of 18 horses.

Starting at $78,845, the X7 xDrive40i is the trim level we’d suggest. Included as standard are the conveniences of four-zone climate control, adaptable front seats with memory settings, a powered tailgate, and more. BMW has not yet revealed fuel economy grades for the 2023 X7’s revised powertrains. It can go from 0-60 mph in 4 seconds and has a top speed of 180 mph. This magnificent vehicle has seven seats and can tow items between 5,300 and 5,950 pounds.

2. 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class

Front shot of the luxury plug-in hybrid Mercedes-Benz GLS on display at the motor show.

Pricing begins at $77,850 and includes 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. Trim levels GLS 450 as well as GLS 580 have a 130-mph peak speed and can go from 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds. Towing capacity is 7,700 pounds, and there is room for seven passengers inside.

It’s great that the GLS class not only reigns supreme in the realm of luxury but is also surprisingly fun to drive, especially considering its enormous size. The GLS450 is powered by a silky-smooth and powerful 362 hp turbo 3.0-liter inline-six. The GLS580’s 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 generates 483 hp, making it far more potent.

The GLS450 accelerated to 60 miles per hour in only 5.5 seconds and stopped from 70 miles per hour in just 154 feet, according to a test conducted by Car & Driver. The GLS already has all-wheel drive and air suspension, but it can be upgraded with a camera system to help it avoid obstructions on the road. To compare, the GLS450 gets 19/23 mpg city/highway, but the GLS580 only gets 16/21.

3. 2022 Mercedes-AMG GLS

2022 model of the all new elegant and classy Mercedes GLS in metallic red colorway with beautiful sky in the background.

Standard sports-tuned air suspension helps the vehicle handle better while also making the ride more stable. The GLS63 is still a luxurious car. The first two rows of seats in the leather-lined cabin feature plush furnishings and enough legroom. In addition to the standard features, buyers can add on several high-tech additions, such as a semi-autonomous driving mode.

Even though the base price of a GLS63 is steep at $135,000, we still think you should spring for a few modifications that will make the whole family happy. The kit includes heated door panels, a console, and armrests, making it ideal for those who live in colder climates. In other words, the maximum weight that may be towed is 7,700 lbs.

The GLS63 is equipped with a 48-volt hybrid system and a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine, which together generate 603 hp. All-wheel drive, air suspension, and 9-speed automatic transmission are all standard features. On our test track, the 2021 GLS63 stunned us with a 3.6-second sprint to 60 miles per hour, outpacing the acceleration of certain hot sports cars.

4. 2023 Cadillac Escalade

View from the side of a red 2023 Cadillac Escalade with mountains in the background.

With a base price of $79,590 and a total of six different trim levels to choose from, this vehicle is a steal for its posh cabin, advanced features, and the debut of the high-performance V-series model. Both a powerful 6.2-liter gasoline V-8 and a diesel-powered inline-six are available to buyers.

Cadillac’s largest SUV is powered by a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that produces 420 horsepower and has a fuel-saving feature that shuts off half of the engine’s cylinders when idling. A 3.0-liter diesel inline-six is also available. Both powertrains can be found in every vehicle. Both the rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive systems are offered to buyers, and a 10-speed automatic transmission is standard across the board. A separate suspension provides support for the back.

The Cadillac Escalade-V can go from 0-60 mph in less than four seconds. Towing capacity is 7,700 pounds, and the top speed is 124 miles per hour. An Escalade with rear-wheel drive gets 15 mpg in the city, 20 mpg on the highway, and 17 mpg in a mixed highway/city driving situation. Conservative estimates place the fuel economy of the turbo-diesel engine at around 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the interstate.

5. 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

A photo of black 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer parked outside of big house at night.

At an expected starting price of $90,000 and offering four trim levels, we get a quiet ride, a roomy cabin, and a lot more, with the “L” variants adding large load compartments. It can wade up to two feet deep in water, has a maximum ground clearance of 10 inches, and can tow up to 9860 pounds.

Despite its power, the most potent Jeep only manages 16 mpg on the open road. This is not some monster V-8, but rather a brand new 6-cylinder twin-turbocharged powertrain producing 510 hp.

There are four available levels of trim. A 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine with 510 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque is standard equipment in the long-wheelbase Grand Wagoneer L.

6. 2022 Lincoln Navigator

This luxurious ride begins at $78,965, and it offers us a powerful twin-turbocharged V-6 engine, a roomy cabin, and an elegant design.

The opulent interior of the Navigator is packed to the gills with first-rate materials, numerous standard comforts, and Lincoln’s cutting-edge technology. The Navigator’s 440-horsepower twin-turbocharged V-6 and Heavy Duty towing package allows it to draw up to 8700 pounds.

If you want a high-end and versatile car, the Reserve trim is the way to go. It comes standard with amenities like heated as well as ventilated seats, a head-up display, and a power-adjustable steering wheel. An all-wheel-drive setup is accessible for those who need it. The 0-60 mph time varies from 6.8 seconds to 5.4 seconds, and the top speed is 115 mph.

7. 2022 Suburban

Chevrolet Suburban in a black colorway parked at the Sahara Desert in Dubai.

The base price is $56,395 and the EPA estimates 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. The six available trim levels all have a respectable 0-60 mph time of under seven seconds and a maximum speed of 154 mph (248 km). This SUV has enough space for eight or nine passengers, and it can pull up to 7,400 to 7,800 pounds.

A total of 121.7 cubic feet of cargo capacity can be made available when the third and center seats are folded down, thanks to the lengthened wheelbase and larger overall size of the vehicle. The Suburban’s spacious interior can accommodate up to eight people, or seven if the optional second-row captain’s chairs are used.

The Suburban is also available with a V8 engine that produces 420 horsepower. When properly outfitted, a Suburban can pull up to 8,300 pounds.

8. 2022 Chevy Tahoe

A white Chevy Tahoe displayed at a dealership is seen from a low perspective.

Large sport utility vehicles (SUVs) are attractive to me because of their spacious cabins, large towing possibilities, and other advantages. Colors that have been wowing prospective owners include Evergreen Gray, Auburn, and Dark Ash.

In terms of mileage, the 7- to 8-seat vehicle achieves 21 mpg inside the city and 28 mpg along the highway. Some variants may reach maximum speed in 7.5 seconds, while the High Country version needs only 5.9 seconds. The 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe, which can be had for as little as $56,395, is about as flexible as large SUVs go.

With a towing capacity from 7,600 to 8,400 lbs, it’s on par with a pickup truck but as roomy as a minivan on the interior. Chevrolet’s second-largest three-row SUV has a selection of three powertrains.

A 355-horsepower V-8, a 420-horsepower V-8, and a 460-lb-ft 6-cylinder are all available options. The Suburban can be outfitted with a custom air suspension and adaptive dampers.

9. 2023 GMC Yukon/Yukon XL

Side view angle of the exterior specs and features of the upcoming 2023 model of GMC Yukon in metallic dark blue colorway.

It can go from 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds and has a top speed of 107 mph for a starting price of $57,295. It comes in five different trim levels. Depending on the configuration, this powerful SUV can tow from 7,500 to 8,500 pounds while seating eight passengers. The second-row captain’s seat may limit passengers to seven, but it offers plenty of storage room.

Denali models have hand-stitched leather seats and wood-trimmed dashboards.

With the smaller V-8 5.3-liter powertrain, the Yukon can achieve up to 16 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.

For that keeping score, that comes out to an average of 18 mpg. Turbo-diesel engines are predicted to be more fuel-efficient, with two V-8 options (a 355-horsepower 5.3-liter and a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter) reaching up to 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.

When it comes to towing heavy weights, however, GMC offers a 3.0L turbo-diesel inline-six as the finest alternative for customers. I find that quite interesting. On all versions, you may choose between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, and the 10-speed automatic transmission is easily shifted with the push of a button.

10. 2022 Ford Explorer

A white 2022 Ford Explorer on the grassy ground with nature background.

The Ford Explorer 2022 boasts a cutting-edge safety and security suite, a roomy cabin, and a potent engine. Despite its competition, the new Explorer is hard to beat in terms of design and performance thanks to its numerous useful features. Not even the dependable 2022 Toyota 4Runner comes close to matching the Explorer’s large variety of interesting amenities and comfortable driving qualities.

The Explorer’s powertrain in 2022 has increased performance without increasing fuel consumption. The new 2.3-liter engine has a standard 10-speed automatic transmission and can generate 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. By 2022, the Toyota 4Runner was offered with only a 4.0L V6 engine plus a 5-speed automatic as the only powertrain option. The 3.3L hybrid powertrain in the Explorer Limited Hybrid is unrivaled in terms of fuel economy.

11. 2022 Volvo XC90

Brand new Volvo XC90 in a metallic black colorway dsiplayed at the Bangkok Thailand Motor Show 2022.

The XC90 starts at $50,900 and provides 21 City/30 highway mpg, making it a good option for those on a limited budget. Momentum, R-Design, and Inscription are the three levels of polish available to you. The 0-60 mph time for this 7-seater is 6.5 seconds at a top speed of 143 miles per hour.

Can we expect you to bring a lot of gear? It takes a pulling force of around 4,000 to 5,000 pounds to move something with a trailer. The cabin design is both sophisticated and child-friendly.

The new top-tier kit has a 360-degree video system, a head-up display, and an improved air-filtration setup. The Climate package has been updated to include standard headlight cleaning plus a heated steering wheel.

However, the XC90’s 400-hp PHEV powertrain reduces both its electric range and fuel economy. This makes it competitive with the other top three-row SUVs.

12. 2022 Nissan Armada

A white 2022 Nissan Armada on a display at dealership.

Our favorite is the SL grade, which begins at $51,195 and is offered in four distinct configurations. As with the SV model, this one has several desirable amenities, but it also has a power sunroof, remote ignition, power liftgate, plus leather interior decorations. It also sports a Bose 13-speaker sound system and 20-inch wheels. There is a 5.8-second “zero to sixty” time and a “zero to one hundred thirty” time.

Even if some of the décors may look a little dated, the interior exudes a lovely air of sophistication thanks to its quiet, relaxing ambiance. Though expensive, the Platinum trim’s lavish interior is worthy of a true luxury pickup. Each model offers a plethora of helpful technology and proactive safety measures.

The Armada’s 400-horsepower V-8 engine and refined automatic transmission allow it to move with a sense of command and confidence. Whether rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, each model can tow 8500 lbs and seat eight passengers simultaneously.

13. 2023 Toyota Sequoia

A white 2023 Toyota Sequoia car driving at the countryside with nature view.

The new Sequoia has a starting price of $59,795 and comes basic with the Tundra’s hybrid engine, that’s able to generate 437 horsepower. Space for up to eight people can be found in its three-row cabin, and it features a massive touchscreen running the newest software.

When comparing the five available sequoia trim levels, the Limited version appears to be the best buy. Even though it’s merely an upgrade over the standard S5, this model adds several desirable improvements. Other enhancements include all-wheel drive, heated as well as cooled front seats, power-folding third-row seats, and a motorized liftgate.

Standard on every Toyota Sequoia is a 5.7-liter V8 engine with 381 horsepower. The Sequoia’s ability to tow is unrivaled, and it’s more than 120 cubic feet of cargo space with the second and third rows folded flat to make it the best vehicle of its kind.

No official numbers have been released yet, but we anticipate a fuel economy of 19 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. As many as eight passengers can ride in comfort in this car. It can reach 60 miles per hour in 6.7 seconds and has a top speed of 115 miles per hour. A trailer between 7,000 and 7,400 pounds can be towed by it.
