2022 Lamborghini Urus

With a starting price of $225,500, the Urus’s rear seat, usable cargo space, plus towing capacity are the features I appreciate, especially when I think about its smaller siblings with limited seating.

If in another lifetime I could afford this vehicle, I’d choose the Verde Mantis green, which is really stunning. The cabin artistry of the 2022 Lamborghini Urus isn’t as spectacular as that of its supercar siblings, but it’s still one of the fiercest family carriers on the planet. In just 3.1 seconds, you can hit 60 mph, and the top speed is 190 mph.

In 2022, Lamborghini hasn’t made much change to the Urus. The super SUV’s 8-speed automatic and AWD system are still powered by the same 641-horsepower twin-turbo V-8. The Italian firm regularly releases limited editions and deluxe packages.

The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that the Urus will get 12 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the interstate. A red flip cover shields both the start button and the shifter, which is shaped like a jet’s throttle.

Levers to the left of the gearshift control the vehicle’s performance settings and drive modes. The interior has extensive synthetic leather and carbon fiber, as well as an Audi-derived infotainment system and customizable instrument cluster.

  • Horsepower and more

1. 2022 Genesis GV80

The premium SUV Genesis GV80 was on display at the auto show.

The 2022 GV80, with its stately exterior and quiet, leather-lined cabin, is the ideal flagship for Genesis’ SUV lineup. When you open the GV80’s driver’s door, you’ll be blown away by the luxurious interior. A 6,000-pound trailer will tow with ease.

For its starting bid of $51,295 (before any options), the GV80 offers outstanding ride quality. With either the standard turbo 2.5-liter inline-four or the available 3.5-liter V-6 with dual turbos, the GV80 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds. To put it another way, the top speed is 147 miles per hour.

The entire GV80 lineup is a relaxing luxury. Even the cheapest model comes with heated front seats, a 14.5-inch touchscreen, and a power liftgate. The EPA estimates 21 cities and 25 highway mpg for the four-cylinder GV80, while the V-6 variants will get 18 cities and 23 highway mpg.

2. 2023 Porsche Cayenne

Front shot of 2023 porsche cayenne car driving on the city street.

Forecasts put the base price of a 2023 Porsche Cayenne at roughly $70,000. With the launch of the new sleek Turbo GT Coupe, this now reaches $181,000.

This vehicle disproves the adage that “more is better” by demonstrating that sometimes less is more. The Cayenne drives and accelerates like a real sports car despite its size and weight.

The most recent iteration of the Cayenne features turbocharged V6 and V8 engines that keep the efficiency sparks glowing. Customers can choose from a hybrid Cayenne or have their SUV customized into a “Coupe” by cutting the roof and reshaping the rear end for better aerodynamics. This article centers on the Cayenne Coupe version of the Porsche Cayenne.

New wheels, a reworked front grille, and updated headlights and taillights are just some of the changes coming to the 2023 Porsche Cayenne refresh. The base of the hybrid system is a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 with 335 hp; this can be increased to 455 hp. About 17 kilometers may be covered while using only electrical power.

The base Cayenne S comes with a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 engine, while the optional twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 comes in no less than four different variants. Turbo versions of the Cayenne increase output from the standard Cayenne to 541 hp, but the Cayenne Coupe does not get this upgrade. The Lamborghini Urus, BMW X5, and Maserati Levante are some of its main competitors.

3. 2023 BMW X5

The all new BMW X5 in metallic silver colorway in 3D illustration.

I particularly like the three available drivetrains, the luxurious interior, and the cutting-edge features of the audio and video system. Up to 6,603 pounds of trailer weight.

The BMW X5, which seats five, starts at $60,600 this year. There are three different motor options available. Inline-six turbocharged powerplants power both the sDrive40i and xDrive40i X5 models.

Using an electric motor in conjunction with a turbocharged inline-six, the xDrive45e generates 389 horsepower. The X5 can hit 173 mph with this engine and sprint to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. It has a city fuel economy of 21 mpg and a highway fuel economy of 25 mpg.

(The BMW 40i needs only 4.8 seconds to reach 60 mph.) Also, the M50i’s twin-turbo V-8 produces 523 horsepower, allowing it to accelerate to 60 mph in under four seconds. There is no need for drivers to fret about being inadequate in most scenarios because all three drivetrains are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Even the base model has a refined inline-six powertrain and the latest technology for comfort and ease. The X5 plug-in hybrid can be driven on electricity alone for short distances, while the available twin-turbo V-8 engine provides lightning-fast acceleration.

4. 2022 Volvo XC90

A black 2022 Volvo XC90 at auto show charging.

The XC90 is a good choice for individuals on a tight budget since its base price of $50,900 and 21 City/30 Highway mpg are both very competitive. There are three tiers of polish to choose from: Momentum, R-Design, and Inscription. The 0-to-60 mph time is 6.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is 143 miles per hour.

You can pull between 4000 and 5000 pounds with the right equipment. The decor is tasteful and kid-friendly at the same time.

In addition to the augmented reality head-up display and upgraded air filtration system already included in the Advance package, these features have been further improved. A headlight cleaner and heated steering wheel are now standard equipment in the Climate package.

Although it has a plug-in hybrid motor with 400 hp, the XC90’s mileage, as well as fuel efficiency, are just okay. On the other hand, the Volvo XC90 is an elite three-row pickup.

5. 2023 Audi RS Q8

Front shot of black 2023 Audi RS Q8 car on the ground with nature background.

The RS Q8 and the SQ8 are both fueled by 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8s, but the RS Q8 is more formidable thanks to its enormous 591 hp and aggressive appearance.

For 2023, we’ve added standard electric sunshades to the rear windows and improved the cabin with more Nappa leather and other high-quality materials. A new parking aid system is included in the Executive package.

Standard on every RS Q8 is the 22-inch alloys, adjustable air suspension, heated and cooled front seats, and 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system. It takes only 3.2 seconds to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour. The EPA’s estimated city and highway fuel economy for the RS Q8 is a dismal 13 and 19 mpg, respectively. A total of 189 miles per hour is the highest possible speed.

This is the price to experience the RS Q8’s mind-blowing acceleration and handling. There is sufficient space for people in both rows of seating, and the trunk is equally as large as that of a regular Q8.

6. 2023 BMW X6

Close up shot of red 2023 BMW X6 car driving on the road.

The X6’s power is understated, whether it comes from the 40i’s inline-six that pushes 335 horses or the M50i’s 523 hp twin-turbo V-8. The X6 may have odd proportions on the outside, but the interior is chic and functional. The fashionable sloping ceiling lessens the available ceiling height and storage space.

In only 3.8 seconds, this beast can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph. The X6 M50i has 523 hp, but we do not think it is worth an extra $20,000. The X6 40i, with its six-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive, is a much better alternative.

We’d spring for the M Sport option, which adds a sportier body kit and exterior trim, a more potent exhaust system, a tweaked suspension, and a unique steering wheel. The X6’s impressive towing capacity is unusual in its class. With the available towing package, the X6 can pull up to 7200 pounds.

Only available with all-wheel drive, the X6 40i has a combined EPA rating of 21 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. Fuel economy for the somewhat more powerful X6 M50i with a twin-turbo V-8 is the same at 16/22.

7. 2022 Audi Q7

A photo of white 2022 Audi Q7 car driving at he deserted place.

This high-end car costs $57,500 at its cheapest and gets 20 mpg inside the city as well as 25 mpg on the highway. As such, we believe the 45 including its turbo-four engine is the finest option and advocate for its Premium Plus trim level. You can expect a 0-60 time of 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. This 7-seater has an outstanding towing capability of 7,700 pounds.

This vehicle is delightful to drive due to its roomy interior (except for the third row), advanced technological features, responsive handling, and plush interior. The Q7 is a luxurious SUV that looks great and is a blast to drive.

All-wheel drive and a 248-horsepower turbo-four are standard, with a 335-hp turbo V-6 available for those who need more towing capacity or want a more powerful performance experience. Adjustable air suspension and four-wheel steering can improve the Q7’s ride quality and maneuverability.

8. 2023 Land Rover Discovery

Side view shot of 2023 Land Rover Discovery car driving on the road near sea waters with mountains background.

At $55,000, it has a base price that is expected to provide 19 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway in terms of fuel economy. Choose from the SE, HSE, or HSE Luxury for a combined 0-60 mph time of 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 125 mph. The towing capacity of this seven-passenger vehicle is between 6,613 and 8,200 pounds.

As a fan of Land Rover, I can say without hesitation that Discovery is a stunning, powerful, and modern take on the brand’s storied past. It will get you where you need to go in style.

The Discovery is Land Rover’s reaction to the Jeep Wrangler in terms of off-road capability; it is the more expensive and luxurious alternative to the Wrangler. The seven seats are spread across three rows. However, the very last one is only really suitable for children.

There are two distinct varieties of turbochargers. An inline-six engine delivering 355 hp is an option in addition to the standard 296 hp four-cylinder unit. As of right now, I am in transit.

9. Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class

Front and side view of 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class photographed on mountain.

The GLE can get 20 mpg inside the city and 25 mpg on the highway, and it has a starting price of $57,200. Out of the five possible packages, the most sensible choice is the GLE 350 base model, which comes standard with a turbo four-cylinder powertrain. The seven-seater can reach 60 miles per hour in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 174 miles per hour. You can pull up to 7,700 pounds with it.

It’s great that there’s plenty of room in both the first and second rows thanks to the car’s cutting-edge interior design. The GLE350 is powered by a 255-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to a nine-speed automated transmission. The market features both RWD and AWD variants.

All-wheel drive and a hybrid powerplant producing 362 horsepower from a turbocharged inline-six and a unique 48-volt electrical system are standard features on the GLE450.

The seats in modern vehicles are typically plush and comfortable. Small individuals are the only ones who will benefit from the extra row of chairs in the back. The GLE’s dashboard features a wall of screens for the driver’s comfort, displaying various readouts and information about the car.

10. 2022 Maserati Levante

Front and side shot of white 2022 Maserati Levante parked in city.

The exceptional performance of the 2022 Maserati Levante speaks for itself, and the luxury status of the Maserati brand guarantees that consumers will be sitting in the driver’s seat of a real one-of-a-kind vehicle. Pricing starts at $51,295.

The 2022 Maserati Levante could be the perfect blend of power and elegance for you. The Levante offers a basic twin-turbo V-6 and an optional twin-turbo V-8 with up to 580 hp.

Maserati’s Levante lineup has been updated for 2022, now including three unique trim levels: the GT, the Modena, and the top-of-the-line Trofeo.

My preference would go to the Modena A since, in addition to the usual conveniences, it also comes with paddle shifters on the steering column, leather interior, and 20-inch wheels. The Trofeo can travel from 0 to 60 mph in under 3.6 seconds.

As reported by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), V-6 automobiles only achieve 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. The V-8 vehicles have an EPA city rating of 13 mpg and a highway rating of 20 mpg. The 8.4-inch infotainment display can be used to adjust the car’s temperature and other features, and there’s also a built-in virtual assistant that can be controlled by voice.

Android Auto, Apple Carplay, SiriusXM, and a navigation system are standard on all models.

11. 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

2023 Land Rover Range driving on the road, 3D iluustration.

With starting prices between $104,500 and $218,300, there are a total of 12 trim levels available for the 2018 Range Rover. Land Rover claims that their new cabin air filtering system can eradicate smells and viruses like COVID-19. The mechanism continues to perform well even while the car is not in motion.

Updates to the Range Rover Sport have made it more comfortable and convenient to use in the present day, while still maintaining its classic good looks. Both the short and long wheel sizes have been increased by three inches. The LWB allows Land Rover to offer a third-row option for the first time.

Unfortunately, for the time being, two gas-powered engines will have to do. The P400 is propelled by the same 3.0 L inline-six engine that drove the previous generation. As before, it is partnered with an eight-speed automatic transmission and produces 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. You can potentially reach a top speed of 176 mph in its top performance mode.

Land Rover boasts that the LWB can go from zero to sixty miles per hour in just 5.8 seconds, significantly less time than the SWB.

12. Cadillac XT6

The dealership's new Cadillac XT6 model is parked there.

The maximum speed of this vehicle is 144 miles per hour. With its standard turbo four-cylinder engine and predicted 21/27 mpg city/highway fuel economy, the 2022 XT6 has a good shot at success. The EPA has given V-6 vehicles a combined 19/26 mpg for city/highway gas mileage. An attractive design, a roomy interior, and various high-tech features can all be yours for the starting price of just $49,740.

Up to 21 mpg inside the city and 27 mpg on the highway are expected from the turbo-four-powered 2018 XT6. The maximum mileage for the V-6 engine is 19 in the city and 26 on the highway.

Customers can select from a V-6 or a turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine for the 2022 model year. Both the FWD and AWD models come standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission, while the former also offers an AWD option.

The XT6 has two extremely plush trim levels available: Premium Luxury and Sport. The 2022 Cadillac XT6’s optional 3.0L V6 engine can pull 4,100 pounds.
