Cadillac XT5

There’s a lot of room for everyone and their luggage in the XT5’s well-appointed cabin; it’s also quiet when driving. Luxury, premium luxury, and sports options are available, with the basic model costing $45,290.

For the best bargain, go with the mid-level Premium Luxury trim, which comes standard with wireless charging, a hands-free liftgate, a heated steering wheel, and leather upholstery, among other desirable amenities.

A V-6 engine with FWD would be our first choice. If you desire AWD, you can get it. There are two engine options for the XT5: a regular turbo four-cylinder plus a V-6.

In 2022 there are new Brembo brakes and 20-inch wheel options for the XT5 sport trim of the XT5. Otherwise, the XT5 is unchanged for the upcoming model year. The stock engine is a turbocharged four-cylinder, but a V-6 engine is available as an option; neither engine is especially potent or tuned.

Fuel economy estimates by the EPA are 22 mpg in the city and highway at 29 mpg, with a combined 24 mpg for FWD XT5s featuring the base turbo four-cylinder. The mpg drops by three mpg at each level if you go from a 4-cylinder to a V-6. The XT5 has a top speed of 130 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 7.5 seconds. 1000 pounds of towing capacity

Here are 12 cars similar to the Cadillac CT5 in multiple ways, such as:

  • Acceleration
  • Horsepower
  • Trim levels
  • Top speed

1. Porsche Macan

A man on his porshe macan driving on the road at afternoon.

My favorite sports utility cars include the Macan because of the extra room it provides for passengers and their possessions. With a starting price of  $54,900, Porsche, you get the basic trim for this handsome SUV with great rough terrain capability.

As of 2018, the Macan’s diesel models were phased out in favor of an all-electric model. In 2022, Porsche will release the Macan T, a high-performance variant that is more affordable.

The 2.9-liter V6 twin-turbo engine powers the Macan S. Its 375 horsepower enables it to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds, making it an excellent choice for racing. The top speed is 169 mph, while the highway fuel economy is 25 mpg.

Despite the Macan GTS’s 434 horsepower, it takes only 4.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph. To top it all off, even in the most well-equipped sports saloons, the Macan is a blast to drive.

2. Mercedes-Benz GLC

A photo of Mercedes-Benz GLC cars in different color parked at a dealership.

The starting price of the GLC is $43,850, and it gets 22/27 mpg in the city and on the highway.

The GLC 350e 4Matic, GLC 300 4Matic, and the GLC 300, all have a top speed of 131 mph. Five people can fit in the vehicle’s 6.1-second 0-60mph acceleration. Towing capacity: 3,500 lbs.

While the C-class sedan is capable of many things, the S-Class is not, such as quick acceleration and a well-insulated cabin.

If you’re looking for a high-end automobile, this one isn’t for you. Turbocharged four-cylinder power and nine-speed automatic transmission are standard on this model

Rear-wheel drive vehicles can be equipped with 4Matic all-wheel drive as an aftermarket option. But at least it’s pleasant to ride in. To reach 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds, go for the all-wheel-drive model.

3. Genesis GV70

Close up photo of black Genesis GV70 car parked with a sunset view.

First SUV for the brand, and they did a great job with a starting price of $41,500. Some of my favorite features of this automobile include the two potent engines, plush interior, and surprising agility of the chassis.

All GV70 models come standard with all-wheel drive and 8-speed automatic transmission, with the choice of a turbocharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder or a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine.

Due to Genesis’ normal strategy of stuffing even the lowest-spec models with luxury amenities, the GV70 is a valuable player in the crowded luxury small SUV market.

The automatic 2.0L 8 SP and the 2.9L 8 SP have different transmissions and engine capacities, but both are 8-speed automatics. 280 to 505 horsepower is available. The V-6-powered GV70 accelerated from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds; the top speed was 150 mph.

Despite its reasonable base price, I think getting the advanced trim is well worth the extra money. Leather upholstery and heated steering wheel, along with other driver-assist technology, such as remote parking, are included in the package.

When it comes to the most fuel-efficient model, the turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers 22mpg city and 28mpg highway, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The twin-turbo V-6 gets 19 mpg throughout the city and 25 mpg on the interstate.

4. 2023 BMW X3

Close up view of bmw x3 in a silver color on the auto show.

It’s easy to achieve the perfect driving posture with the 10-way power-adjustable front seats, which include bolsters that can be adjusted on either side. The cushioning in all of the seats is comfortable, including in the backseats, where passengers can recline their seat backs. With a starting price of $44,695, it comes in three trims and has a towing capacity of 4,400 lbs.

There is now an M Sport aesthetic package for the base X3 model, making it seem and feel more like the sportier M40i variant. For 2022, the M40i will have a 48-volt hybrid system, but its overall horsepower will stay at 382 hp, much as the 2021 version. The xDrive30e PHEV is no longer available.

To improve ergonomics, some of the secondary controls on the center console were moved. BMW is now offering a 12.3-inch upgrade for both the infotainment display and the digital gauge display, while the 10.3-inch display is still standard.

174 miles per hour is the top speed limit. Despite the M40i’s 382-horsepower six-cylinder engine propelling it to 60 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds, we advise customers to stick with the 248-horsepower four-cylinder basic. The M40i gives you 29 mpg with its more powerful engine that is unexpectedly close to the xDrive30i at 31 mpg.

5. 2022 Volvo XC60

A picture of black vovlo xc60 at the city street in motion.

Beginning at $43,745 we get a fancy interior and shell, worthwhile powertrains, plus driving-assistance features.

You can have an XC60 in any of seven different configurations, but I’m partial to the R-Sport Design because of its aggressive styling and the T6 engine’s quick acceleration.

It’s certainly worth the extra money above the Momentum base trim due to the various features that are now standard. The R-Design trim level comes equipped with Harman/Kardon audio, better alloy wheels, a motorized rear liftgate, and automatic 4-zone temperature control.

According to EPA estimations, city fuel economy for the FWD B5 will be 22 mpg and highway fuel economy would be 28 mpg. As compared to the more powerful B6s, the plug-in hybrid T8s can achieve 63 MPGe.

All powertrains for this SUV comprise AWD and eight-speed auto transmission. The turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and 48-volt hybrid system powering the B5 generate 247 horsepower. The B6 has a 295-horsepower supercharger.

455 hp is generated by combining the B6’s engine featuring an electric motor in the Recharge trims. It can tow up to 3500 pounds and reach 60 mph in 6.9 seconds. Its top speed is 130 mph.

6. 2022 Alfa Romeo

A green 2022 Alfa Romeo car moving on the road at the desert place.

With five trim levels, the Alfa Romeo has a starting price ranging from $77,990 to $288,000, depending on the options. You might expect a fuel efficiency of 6-8.4 liters per 100 kilometers. All the trims are doable choices. It takes 3.8 seconds to dash to 60 mph in the five-passenger SUV and the top speed maxes out at  191 mph.

It has a better cabin feeling since it’s not German, plus it’s cheaper now, which I like. A five-star safety rating has been awarded to it as well. You may use this car as a daily driver because of the excellent audio/video system and the sporty exterior.

Between the 2.0L 8 SP Automatic and the 2.9L 8 SP Automatic, transmissions and engine capacities differ. HP ranges from 280 to 505 mA per second.

7. 2022 Lexus NX

Front and side view of black 2022 Lexus NX parked outside of the big house.

The Lexus NX plug-in hybrid is a stylish SUV with a lot of potential as a company vehicle. The NX 300h has a 0-60 mph time of 9.2 seconds and an electronically assisted top speed of 112 mph.

In comparison to its predecessor, the new NX’s interior features a more modern aesthetic and higher-quality materials000 pounds.

With LED headlamps and a windscreen that has a greater slope than that of the previous generation, the model 2022 is a complete redesign.

Some high-end consumers may find the new NX to be too basic, despite its low starting price of under $40,000. The 275-horsepower turbo 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine comes standard with the mid-range AWD NX350. Consider including the Luxury package with your order.

The 2022 NX comes with a choice of four different powertrains. On the NX250 and an all-wheel drive is an option, but on the NX350, it is standard. The NX250 is powered by a 203-hp four-cylinder 2.5-liter engine mated to an eight-speed automatic. For the time being, there are only two hybrid options.

8. 2022 Jaguar F-Pace

A 3d illustration of 2022 Jaguar F-Pace on a light room.

Starting at $50,900, the F-Pace gives you 22/27 city/highway miles per gallon. Infiniti’s F-PACE and R-Sport vehicles are also available in six different trim levels.

If you’re hauling five people, it can hit 60mph in just over four seconds. This SUV has a maximum towing weight of 5,291 pounds.

It boasts a wide cargo room, upgraded engines, and great handling. A few SUVs, such as the 2022 Jaguar F-Pace, can combine utility and fun in one package. The F-Pace stands out from the crowd.

It follows the P250, a turbocharged four-cylinder that is both elegant and powerful, with the P400. Luxury materials, cutting-edge technology, and an abundance of driver aid features are all included inside the Jaguar F-Pace.

9. 2022 Infiniti QX60

Side view look of 2022 Infiniti QX60 parked at the city street.

The QX60, which has a starting price of $46,850, is Infiniti’s first entry into the midsize luxury SUV market. There are four trim levels to choose from Pure, Luxe, Sensory, and Autograph. In this case, I’d go for the Sensory trim.

A motion-activated auto liftgate plus med second-row seats are included as the standard of the base package. Front-wheel drive, which costs an additional $2000, will satisfy the needs of the majority of buyers.

A nine-speed automatic transmission is being introduced for the 2022 QX60, replacing the former model’s CVT. The 2020 QX60 will continue to get power from the 295-hp V-6 engine. AWD is an option on the new QX60, although it is still an FWD vehicle.

The QX60’s towing capacity has grown by 1000 pounds over the 2020 model. It has seven seats, can go 120 mph, and takes 6.5 seconds to go from 0-60 mph.

10. 2022 Volvo XC90

Front and side view of 3d illustration 2022 Volvo XC90 car on a white background.

The XC90, which begins at $50,900, gets 21 city/30 highway mpg. The three trim levels are Momentum, R-Design, and Inscription. The top speed of this 7-seater is 143 miles per hour, and the 0-60 time is 6.5 seconds.

The XC90 can tow up to 5000 pounds. Elegant and safe, its interior is ideal for families.

Additionally, an updated air filtering system, as well as a head-up display, are now part of the Advance package.

Heated steering wheel and headlight cleaning are now standard features of the Climate package.

However, a 400-hp PHEV powertrain is an option for the XC90, which limits the electric range and fuel economy. Because of this, it is one of the best three-row vehicles on the market today.

11. 2022 Volvo XC40

Close up front view of 2022 Volvo XC40 on a auto show.

Owning a Volvo is appealing because of the many modern conveniences it offers, but this model also has its unique personality. For me, this is the clincher. The first investment is $35,100.

With the 2022 release of the all-new Volvo XC40 SUV, Volvo’s already remarkable lineup of SUVs will get even better. Momentum, R-Design, and Inscription are the trim options available for the T4 and T5 vehicles.

Known as the T4, the turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the base model produces 184 horsepower. The T5 is the most exhilarating car because of its 248 horsepower and all-wheel drive.

In addition to the Volvo Pilot Assist driving technology that is standard on more expensive Volvo models, the XC40 can be equipped with it. Besides the large cargo area, the interior of the vehicle is well-designed with numerous innovative storage options.

You’ll hit 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds. It has a 3,500-pound towing capacity and can achieve up to 23 city/32 highway miles per gallon in terms of fuel efficiency.

12. 2022 Audi Q5

Front view of 2022 Audi Q5 in a matcha like color at the car show.

They start at $44,495 for the 2022 Audi Q5 and 2022 Audi Q5 Sportback and are loaded with high-end features. Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive technology is standard on both the 261-hp turbo four-cylinder and the 362-hp PHEV engines. The touchscreen infotainment system and optional digital gauge display on the Q5 is sure to excite the car’s target market of tech enthusiasts.

As a result, I’d recommend the Sportback Premium Plus 45 or Premium Plus 45 as my top two selections from the 12 available trims. A 4.5-second dash to 60 mph is on the horizon. That’s a speed of 130 mph.

At 23mpg in the city plus 28mpg highway for city driving, the Q5 40 is somewhat better than the Q5 45. Plug-in hybrids can travel 23 miles on electric power alone, but their overall fuel economy is 27 mpg. It may not be the most thrilling car to drive, but you won’t be shortchanged when it comes to technology with the CR-V X.
