Minivans make up the fewest number of different models of all vehicles yet the few make and models there are, remain popular.
They serve a distinct market, namely families. SUVs and Crossovers definitely chipped into minivan sales. However, what minivans have going for it are price and seating capacity. 7-seater SUVs are expensive. The minivan is a less expensive option for more seating. They’re smaller and easier to drive than most 7-seat SUVs as well.
As an aside, when you look at today’s minivans, they are beginning to look more and more like crossovers.
